Godinama je uredjivao i vodio program Index-a 202, koji je TIME magazin nazvao najpopularnijim radio programom u istocnoj Evropi. U SAD-u je radio u CBS-u, NBC-u, CNN-u, C-SPAN-u i drugim medijima.

The host of Radio Avala is Aleksandar Zigic. He has hosted various radio and TV programs in Europe and the U.S. Aleksandar first became well known to the audiences in southeastern Europe when he hosted the popular top 20 countdown show, Hit of the Month. He was also a producer and host of Radio Index 202, which TIME magazine called "the hottest show in Eastern Europe". He has worked as a producer / writer at CNN's global headquarters in Atlanta for more than five years. He has also worked as a news writer at CBS, NBC and FOX in Chicago as well as C-SPAN in Washington, DC.
Radio Avala covers all important events in the Serbian community in the wider Chicago metro area, from Indiana to Wisconsin. It is popular in the entire Balkans community in the midwest of the U.S. It is estimated that there are around 300,000 people from former Yugoslavia in this region.
